Kawana Waters is located 1.5 sea miles (2.7 kilometres) from the mouth of the Mooloolaba River which opens slightly north of Point Cartwright. Refer to pilotage for entering the river.
After entering the river take the first turn left from the river into the Kawana Waters main canal and travel past the many harbour-side houses as far as possible to the large Jessica Haven cul-de-sac commonly called the ‘pond’.
The pond is an open space with a regular flat bottom to approximately 2 metres depth at mean sea level. The pond has sufficient room to turn a 20-metre vessel in safety and is ideal for anchoring while waiting for a berth in the Marina.
Maritime Safety Queensland circulates marine safety information to mariners, organisations and other interested parties such as Notices to Mariners. For details on conditions at the river entrance, please check their website.
